Orlando Attractions Universal Studios and Islands of Aventrue

This year we visited Universal Studios Islands of adventure and City Walk for our daughters dance Expo. Orlando Attractions everyone must do. February in Florida means clear skies and 70° beautiful weather so we bought a two day two park pass to enjoy all these parks have to offer.

We booked a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel on the theme park property which is a bit more expensive than hotels off the property, but includes express passes for all the rides in the parks. Express pass cuts your wait time in half for all the rides which is clutch. This is an OllieM hack that is not promoted anywhere, but we think our audience should know by staying on the property you get a much nicer hotel you’re able to spend more time at the parks, go on more rides with the express pass, and save on many things like parking and dining. You can head to the park by foot or on a a boat ride which we really enjoyed. Arriving at City Walk by boat was an experience of its own .

After her performance on the main stage at City Walk, we went right to the parks, starting with Universal Studios Minion Mayhem ride. So many things to do in Universal Studios but we went in order as to not miss anything. This 5D ride is fun for all ages. Since our two kids are 11 and six years old, the younger one cannot go on all the rides like roller coasters so we first went on all the 3D plus motion rides which we all enjoyed. Take a ride with the Minions feels like your on a roller coaster and has great animation. See our video for inside peak. Next up was the Jimmy Fallon Flight Over New York experience. We got to see what it’s like to be in the NBC Studios and took a journey through all the late night show host sets. This is a new attraction and the ride is incredible.

We provided a sneak preview into all the rides, which you will not find anywhere else except OllieM. We continue through the park, enjoying live shows like the construction workers making music with buckets and tools from the work site. My son particularly loved this because he’s into making music like me. Next we went on the fast and furious ride. This was our first time on this ride and we were really impressed. You get to see the real cars and garage set up used in the movie while in line. In our YouTube video we also have a sneak peek into this ride. We love Universal Studios, and all the different worlds, but the Harry Potter world was by far our favorite. You have to go through a secret Corridor into the Harry Potter village at first is hard to find as there are no big signs. Upon entering the village you see a huge dragon on top of a building that breathes fire every 10 minutes. You can enjoy dragon scale red beer and ice cream favorites for the kids. A magical wand shop for those who are true fans.

What’s great about the Two Park Two Day Pass is that you can take the Harry Potter train from Universal Studios to Islands of adventure. This speeds up your transition between parks and saves you time. There are Harry Potter worlds in both parks so the train takes you from one Harry Potter section to the other. Each world offering different rides and shops. Before we took the train to Islands of Adventure we wanted to see the rest of what Universal Studios has to offer in all the  different character worlds. We really loved the Dr. Seuss world where we got to meet none other than the Grinch. He was a silly Grinch. I think we saw the movie like 100 times lol. We also got to meet Thing One and Thing Two and enjoy a Grinch candy apple from the sweets shop. Everything in these shops is customized and one of a kind for the world you are in. Nobody does it better than Universal Studios, Orlando.

Next ride was the tram in the Dr. Seuss world. We were able to film the adventure for you and get a view of both parks from the top. This ride is not scary at all and fun for the whole family. Now we were headed to Simpson’s world which I really loved growing up watching the show. My six year old son got to go on the Alien Ride and control the up-and-down functions. Short preview of the ride also in our video. There’s also a cool 3-D ride, which is similar to the Minions. You can head Moe’s pub for a refreshing beer. By now we’re almost at the end of the park with the last ride which was ET the original extraterrestrial. Both of my kids have never watched a movie or heard of ET so it was nice to share a childhood classic and explain to them all about it. We took the ride on the bike through a magical forest where we helped ET get home.

After this ride, we hit one of the Universal stores on the way out and headed back to our hotel to get ready for dinner at the Hard Rock Café. Being at the hotel on the property makes it so fast and easy to go back-and-forth between City Walk, the parks and your room giving you much more bang for your buck. We quickly got ready and headed to dinner. While waiting for our food we got to enjoy all the memorabilia of rock stars and musicians of old and new. The Elvis Presley room was especially unique as it had hand written songs by him and old pictures from his childhood. The dishes they offer were pretty good. Burgers and salmon was a good catch with around a $100 bill for four people. They had an awesome pink Cadillac car hovering over the bar, guitars and outfits from stars and props from their shows. A room of all the Woodstock festival memorabilia and live music which really set the vibe. We decided to get dessert elsewhere.

A short walk to the other side of  City Walk for Voodoo Doughnuts. This one of a kind donut shop had so many different varieties to choose from Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Oreo Dirt were my two favorites. The kids were in heaven you can see pictures of the donuts and videos in the gallery. By this time we were on our feet all day and really tired, so we hit the room and watched a movie in bed.

We woke up early so we could hit Islands of Adventure and see all it had to offer. When you enter the park, you are immediately intimidated by all of the giant roller coasters you see. The Hulk and the Velocicoaster were on my list. This park also has lots of water rides at the end so be sure to bring a bathing suit. We started off in the comic world with Spider-Man ride, check out our exclusive sneak peek of the 3-D adventure. We got lucky and got to meet Spider-Man for a one on one meeting greet.  Just before a parade past by we bumped into wolverine. He really like my Avengers shirt that he slashed. After Spider-Man ride we wanted to hit some roller coasters that my son could not go on because he was not tall enough. Beware that most of the rides in islands of adventure are 48 inches or taller for the roller coasters and some of the 3-D rides in Harry Potter world as well. Islands of adventure has something for everyone, but gears more towards teens and adults.

We went on the Hulk roller coaster, which is unlike any other coaster because it shoots you out instead of a slow climb and drop like traditional coasters. This is in exhilarating ride, not for the faint of heart. After the Hulk we had lunch. Gyros with falafel was a perfect meal that fills you up for the day. It’s good to also bring sandwiches and waters into this park because food is very expensive. A free water hack we discovered to save five dollars on a bottle was going into Starbucks and asking for a cup of water with ice, they give it to you for free, so nice of them. This is an OllieM travel hack Exclusive. After lunch we headed into Jurassic Park for a meet and greet with blue the raptor dinosaur. One of a kind amazing animatronic larger than life dinosaur that moves and makes noises. Beware the younger kids can get really scared as he looks as real as it gets. We got to take pictures with him and we’re almost eaten. Jurassic Park has really great small roller coasters for the kids and flying adventures but the Velocicoaster is what we were after there is no express line for this ride as it is a new ride but the 70 minute way it was worth the ride. It is very different from the Hulk coaster. This roller coaster was longer and has much more twists and turns and left you upside down for a good amount of the ride so you may not want to eat lunch prior 😆.

After Jurassic World we headed to Adventures of King Kong. This ride was a 7D Experience with 3-D glasses. Starts with outdoor ride into the gates of the fort and takes you on a ride where king Kong protects the humans from dinosaurs. You get to see his might when he rips the dinosaur jars in half to protect the riders. At the end of the ride, you see a huge giant animatronics of king Kong, larger than life is so impressive unlike anything on any of the other rides in the park. After king Kong, we headed into the 2nd Harry Potter world in the Islands of adventure. This one has carts serving butter beer and more cool rides. The Fam split up to take my youngest son on the Griffin roller coaster for kids and my wife took our oldest daughter into the castle for a Harry Potter flying on broom adventure. A mix of 3-D x moving ride and spooky spiders. This ride is the latest in the theme park and offers the most complex interactive an experience.

After the Harry Potter world, you enter the old comics zone. This section has mostly water experiences. Hope you brought your bathing suit. This world of old comics, Popeye and olive is really cool. You have a dropping freefall, water ride, as well as spinning rafts through the rapids. Splash pads and surprise water bombs throughout this area. After comic world you exit the park through the gift shops and be sure to grab yourself a memorable item.

We then headed back to the hotel and got ready for our second dinner night at the Tooth Some Chocolate Emporium. This was a chocolate factory like I’ve never seen before. Filled with contour chocolate delights, macarons, stacked milkshakes, and wondrous art. We dined at the second floor with a view of City Walk and really enjoyed our dinner at around the same price as the Hard Rock Café. I feel the food is higher quality and better taste. The salmon dishes and burgers were better at this restaurant, but it is harder to get a reservation, so be sure to book ahead. My favorite milkshake what is the mint chocolate chip and my son loved to sprinkle cake.

By this time we were wiped out from two days of being on our feet and headed back to the hotel. We woke up early to hit the pool as the Hard Rock Hotel has a heated pool which we really enjoyed. on our way home we stopped at the premium outlet shops to find the best brands at outlet prices. My daughter couldn’t wait to shop at Lululemon and we found great items for the right prices. They also have a great kiosk with Acai bowls that we all enjoyed as we headed home for 3 Hour drive. back to South Florida. Thank you for going on this adventure with us. See our photo gallery below, watch the video and be sure to check out all our other adventures here.

  • Fort Myers as You’ve Never Seen It

Fort Myers as You’ve Never Seen It

Visiting Fort Myers, Florida was an experience I will never forget. I was looking for a fun and relaxing vacation and Fort Myers delivered just that. The first thing I did when I arrived was go to the beach. The white sandy beach and crystal clear waters were really nice. We spent hours sunbathing, swimming in the sea, and trying our hand at paddle boarding. The beach was the perfect place to relax and forget the stress of life.

    The Lighthouse at Sanibel Island

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the lighthouse on Sanibel Island. The Lighthouse is a lighthouse of history and natural beauty. Visiting the area, I was immediately drawn to this iconic architecture and its scenic surroundings. As we approached the lighthouse, we couldn’t help but be in awe. Built in 1884, the lighthouse stands majestically against the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico. We happened to meet a young couple from New York, Angela and Pedro so we made a couple’s event out of it.

The white and red stripes of the lighthouse were a familiar sight on the island and made me feel like I was stepping back in time. I decided to climb to the top of the lighthouse and from there I had an amazing panoramic view of Sanibel Island. The view was breathtaking and I could see for miles in the distance. The view of the sea, islands and surrounding mangroves from the top of the lighthouse was beautiful. We also saw dolphins and manatees swimming in the distance. The lighthouse is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and was a great opportunity to see native wildlife. Not to mention, we saw several species of birds and spotted a few small lizards.

The Sanibel Island Lighthouse is not just a beautiful building, it is steeped in history. Not only did I learn that the lighthouse was built to allow ships to enter the port safely but also plays an important role in the development of the island. Besides, we also learned about the lighthouse keepers who lived and worked there and how they were an integral part of the island community.

After the Lighthouse We Got Hungry

The Lighthouse Cafe, a restaurant near the lighthouse on Sanibel Island, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The restaurant was a short walk from the lighthouse and offered the perfect blend of delicious food and stunning views. Upon arriving at Lighthouse Cafe, we were greeted by friendly staff and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. We chose to sit outside on the patio with views of the lighthouse and the Gulf of Mexico. The patio is surrounded by lush tropical greenery and was the perfect place to enjoy our meal.

For my meal, I chose the catch of the day, sea bream with lemon butter sauce. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing. Pedro and Angie ordered the nacho plate fully loaded. It actually looked really yummy. We also enjoyed the grilled vegetables which were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Our waiter was Anthony and he truly earned his tip. He recommended we try “sex on the beach” cocktail to wash our meal down. It was the perfect drink for a hot day.

“Our waiter was Anthony and he truly earned his tip. He recommended we try “sex on the beach” cocktail to wash our meal down. It was the perfect drink for a hot day.”

Another highlight of my trip was a boat tour on the Caloosahachee River. It was so peaceful being on the water as we saw many different types of wildlife and birds. Our guide Miguel, was also very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the history of the area. The dolphins happened to greet us with their serenade and Miguel suggested that our group must be special since the dolphins don’t normally give a show. This was more then worth it since I’ve never seen a dolphin up close.

I personally really needed to unwind and the trip was beyond relaxing and unexpectedly enjoyable. We were all ecstatic about the choices of entertainment we chose since they were easy on the wallet but provided a memorable experience. Pedro and Angie are going to join us on the next trip later this summer cause they apparently had more fun then we did. I can’t wait. It never ceases to amaze me about the types of people one can meet on trips and form lifelong friendships. So cool!!

  • Uncovering the Best Washington State Hot Springs

Uncovering the Best Washington State Hot Springs

As winter approaches and the days get shorter and colder, many of us look for ways to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find a little relaxation and rejuvenation. Alternatively, hot springs might be a good fit. Washington state has some of the most beautiful and remote hot springs in the country. Further, these natural wonders offer an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. Indeed, forget the outside world and just relax and rejuvenate.

    Goldmyer Hot Springs:

What is more, whether it’s a romantic getaway or a fun family adventure, these hidden gems have something for everyone. Moreover, one of Washington’s most popular hot springs is the Goldmyer Hot Springs. Natural hot springs deep in the Cascade Mountains that can be reached by hiking. To say nothing of crystal clear waters, natural rock pools and breathtaking mountain views are yours from the moment you arrive. In all honesty, it’s surrounded by lush forests too, and the hot springs with the murmuring stream are a healing space.

My personal favorite hot spring is Goldmyer Hot Springs. It is located in a remote area of the Cascade Mountains and is accessible only via hiking trails. Furthermore, the hike isn’t too difficult, but it’s a bit long. As well, when you arrive at the hot spring, it’s like discovering a hidden treasure. As a matter of fact, the water is warm and inviting and there is a large pool for swimming.

What is more, there is also a small waterfall nearby where you can get a massage. On our last visit we had the good fortune of seeing Bambi and family. In fact, that was a magical moment. In all honesty, by the time I dried off my hands to take a pic though, they were gone. Indeed, being amidst the beautiful evergreen fir and the wildlife puts this at the top of my list.

Another cool hot spring is called Sol Duc Hot Springs. Located in Olympic National Park, it is a little more developed than Goldmyer. There are several pools to choose from, one of which also has a slide. My friend and I dove into the warm water.

“The hot spring water was just the right temperature and felt great on the skin. I spent hours soaking in the hot springs watching the steam rise.”

Our visit to Scenic Hot Springs in Washington State was an amazing experience. Located in the Methow Valley, the hot springs are natural hot springs that pour into man-made pools. On the other hand, the location is great. It’s surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery. To tell the truth, the hot spring water was just the right temperature and felt great on the skin. Besides, I spent hours soaking in the hot springs watching the steam rise. The water is crystal clear and you can see the rocks at the bottom of the pool.

Additionally, the good thing about scenic hot springs is that they are not crowded. Furthermore, I went on a weekday and it was relatively quiet so I had most of it to myself. I felt like I had the hot spring all to myself, and it was very relaxing. Not to mention, the scenic hot spring facilities are clean and well maintained. Not only changing rooms and showers are available, but also picnic tables and chairs as well.  In fact, we enjoyed a picnic lunch with friends and family.

What is more appealing is the classic and modern décor sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Furthermore, we were greeted by our waiter John who was friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

Indeed one of the highlights of the menu was the restaurant’s specialty, the ‘Hot Chicken Sandwich’. Reminiscent of Nashville’s famous spicy chicken, this dish did not disappoint. In fact, the sandwich was crunchy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of seasoning. It was served with coleslaw which complemented the dish perfectly.

Alternatively, the dish that my wife really enjoyed was the Grilled Vegetable Plate. A mix of grilled zucchini, eggplant and peppers served with risotto. In all honesty this is a great option for those looking for a lighter meal. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the peanut butter pie, a classic Southern dessert with a twist. It was creamy, delicious and a perfect ending to a satisfying meal.

Crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Furthermore, the ‘shrimp and grits’ main course was another standout dish. It is served with a rich, hearty sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp.

  • Things to do in Pigeon Forge Tennessee

Things to do in Pigeon Forge Tennessee

Our trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tennessee was one our family will cherish forever. A fun filled adventure that was great for the kids and adults. We went with 3 other families made up of cousins and friends. We drove from South Florida and had a ride filled with adventures on way. Stopping in St Augustine and Savanna Georgia to brake up the 14 hour car ride was clutch. Included in this post you will find our route with pictures, videos, hotels and things to do.

    St Augustine Pit Stop

Our first stop was in St Augustine to see the oldest city in the USA. We toured the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and had lunch at the small town near by. Winter time in Florida means 60 degrees and clear skies. Everyone enjoyed the town and had delicious fish tacos. We then drove 3 more hours to Savanna Georgia to have dinner stay the night.

We stayed near the canal and bridge at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. Enjoyed delicious pizza at Graffito. Indeed, our hotel had a view of the bride and boats with dining and entertainment right below. We didn’t have to go far to see the lively bands and performances. Moreover, Savanna has a charm like no other. We went to sleep before late and woke up early for a seven hour drive to our Cabin – where the real adventure began.

    Pigeon Forge Here We Come

In all honesty, Pigeon Forge lodge was able to host our group of 25 people in a huge 3 story cabin in the town center. To say nothing, some in our group had been there previously and knew all the best trails, activities and food spots. TO tell the truth, it’s great to go with someone that knows the lay of the land.

As a matter of fact, that’s why Ollie and I write these articles. We want to help you feel like you know exactly where to go and what to do even when traveling somewhere new. Not to mention, with so many cool things to do in Pigeon Forge and only three days to explore, we had to wake up early and hit the trails.

    Day of Fun

Started our first day off with a hiking trail at Chimney tops trail in the Smokey Mountains. Amazing trail that everyone could hike and enjoy from 2 year olds to 45 year olds the whole group enjoyed it. Then, we saw waterfalls, crossed bridges, climbed trees and drank straight from the river. The most refreshing mountain water you will ever taste. Had lunch on a log by the river and kids skipped rocks. We then headed back to the town to see all it has to offer. We enjoyed go cart racing at Fast Tracks. This is no ordinary race track, it was a 4 story ride with spiraling turns and jumps. The kids were going crazy 😜 fast.

We then had some fried Oreo treats by the track and continued to explore the town museums and gem mining. By that time we were ready to head back to cabin and barbecue all the meat we brought. It was like feeding an army being that we were 15 kids and 10 adults. The cabin had two long tables to accommodate all of us. Kids enjoyed the game room and jacuzzi on the balcony.

We hit the hey and woke up early to go to Jayell Ranch for ATV rides and some of us horse back riding. So many cool animals to see and things to do on this Adventure Park. After the ranch we drove up and explored some mountain view points that looked over Gatlinburg.

    Gatlinburg

We went back to cabin to get ready to hit the Downtown Gatlinburg which is right near Pigeon Forge. This street was filled with restaurants, moon shine bars, 7d movies and cool stores. A little something for everyone. Moonshine tastings at Sole was the highlight. You can pay $5 and get like 9 small tasting shots of all the flavors they offer and buy even buy some jars to take home if you like. We got the kids Ice cream and milkshakes and tasted the worlds hottest hot sauce at Pepper Palace. level 9 million on the Scoville Scale. 🥵

Gatlinburg downtown was one of the best boulevards I have walked in the US. Highly recommended by OllieM. Back to the cabin for our last night. We were sad it was our last night in this amazing cabin. Kids watched a movie in the theater room and the adults had some free time enjoying the balcony and great 50 degrees weather.

    Snow Tubing

The next day we went snow tubing on way home in Maggie Valley Tube World . We chose it because its just 2 hours outside the city on our way back home. Kids loved it and it was a great way to end the trip. We payed for a half session of tubing and saved $20 a person as opposed to full hour. Kids got to go like ten times up and down and that was worth every penny.

I hope this article helps you in your next vacation if you choose to go to Tennessee. See more articles about the many cabins we visited in NC and Georgia. We really love to explore the outdoors and our children get to see nature, mountains, rivers and a sky full of stars which we do not get to experience living in South Florida.

Hiking, Dining, and Jeeping in Sedona

I recently had the opportunity to visit Sedona, Arizona, and it exceeded all my expectations! As well as from stunning red rock formations to numerous outdoor activities. As a matter of fact, this scenic destination has something for everyone. There is plenty of fun to go around for everyone.

Actually, one of the highlights of my trip was a guided tour of the area with local expert Lyle Murphy. He showed us the best places to hike and take pictures. Additionally, he took us to some hidden gems only locals know about. In all honesty, I highly recommend Lyle if you are looking for a knowledgeable and approachable tour guide.

“Had to stop for a picnic in the middle of the beautiful Sedona wilderness.”

Besides the guided tour, another highlight of my trip was visiting Red Rock Cafe, the best local restaurant in Sedona. In all honesty, the food was delicious and the service was top notch, thanks to our waiter Rodrigo. He made great suggestions and made sure we had a great dining experience.

Furthermore, if you love the outdoors, I highly recommend taking his jeep tour to see the red rocks up close. We took Red Rock Western Jeep Tours and had so much fun! Not only was our guide Patricia Langley very knowledgeable, she also made the tour very enjoyable. In fact, we had to stop for a picnic in the middle of the beautiful Sedona wilderness. Indeed, no trip to Sedona is complete without a visit to Cathedral Rock. Actually, the hike to the top is a bit strenuous, but the views from the top are worth it. To say nothing of the panoramic views of the surrounding red rocks are truly breathtaking. Furthermore, be sure to bring your camera.

To tell the truth, Sedona is a must-see for anyone looking for natural beauty. No tot mention the outdoor activities, and a taste of local culture. As a matter of fact, I can’t wait to go back and explore more of this wonderful place. In addition, I hope this article has inspired you to plan your own Sedona adventure. Moreover, I hope you discover all the things that make this place so special.

  • The Magic of Yellowstone National Park

The Magic of Yellowstone National Park

    The Old Faithful Experience:

As a passionate traveler and outdoor enthusiast, I had always dreamed of visiting Yellowstone National Park. From its breathtaking landscapes to its abundant wildlife, the park offers a wealth of experiences to discover. On my recent trip, I was thrilled to finally witness the famous geysers, including Old Faithful, which erupted right on time. It was truly a awe-inspiring sight to behold the power of nature up close.

“The eruption lasts about one and a half to five minutes and is truly spectacular.”

In all honesty, visiting the Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park is an unforgettable experience. As a matter of fact, as you get closer, you’ll hear a roar and see steam rising from the ground. Additionally, raising hopes of an imminent eruption. When Old Faithful finally erupts, you’ll be amazed by its powerful jets of hot water and steam. Sit in the front row of this natural wonder and watch Old Faithful soar up to 185 feet with the mist on your face. The eruption lasts about one and a half to five minutes and is truly spectacular.

Along with its natural attractions, I also took advantage of the local hotspots in Yellowstone. I especially loved exploring Yellowstone Lake and taking a scenic drive along the Grand Loop Road. The views left me breathless. But what really made my trip unforgettable was the food.

    2 Best Places to Eat:

As a foodie, I made it my mission to try the best local cuisine and I was not disappointed. Our two top picks for the best dishes in the park are the Bison Burger at Lake Hotel Dining Room and the Grilled Rainbow Trout at Old Faithful Inn Dining Room. Both meals were not only delicious but also made with locally sourced ingredients, adding a special touch.

  • Orange Beach Provides Amazing Value For Everyone

Orange Beach Provides Amazing Value For Everyone

I recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend in Orange Beach, Alabama. To say nothing of beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters were just the beginning of the fun. If you’re planning a trip to Orange Beach, here are the top 2 coolest local spots you can’t miss, and local restaurants you won’t be able to resist.

    Nature Trail Envy

In all honesty, the Hugh S. Brannion Backcountry Trail tops the must-see list. This beautiful nature trail is the perfect way to get in touch with nature and enjoy the peace and tranquility while taking in stunning vistas. Not to mention, the trails are surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife, and it’s easy to lose track of time exploring them all.

Next is the Gulf State Park Pier, a great place to fish and take in breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico. Not only whether you’re an experienced fisherman or just looking for a fun activity to do with your family, but the pier has something for everyone as well. I loved listening to the atmospheric ambience.

    Best Local Eats

On the other hand, let’s talk about food! The first restaurant we visited was Fisher’s at the Orange Beach Marina. To tell the truth, this seafood restaurant is a local favorite and it’s easy to see why. In fact, the menu is packed with delicious seafood dishes like grilled mahi-mahi and seafood platters loaded with fresh shrimp, crab legs and oysters. The food is always fresh and expertly prepared, making Fisher’s a must-visit place in Orange Beach.

“Served with seasoned rice and grilled vegetables, grilled mahi-mahi is a filling treat.”

In the first place, on my list was the grilled mahi-mahi. The fish is perfectly cooked and the zesty citrus sauce complements the natural flavors. Served with seasoned rice and grilled vegetables, grilled mahi-mahi is a filling treat. Alternatively, we had the seafood platter which was bursting with fresh shrimp, crab legs and oysters. As well as the platter also includes sides of crispy fries and coleslaw that perfectly complement the seafood.

Furthermore, we went to Gulf Shores steamer and enjoyed their signature steamed crab legs. Besides, the juicy, succulent meat melted in your mouth and paired perfectly with the garlic butter for dipping. Further, to round off the meal, I enjoyed the roasted red potatoes.
In addition, we tasted gumbo, a rich, flavorful broth filled with juicy shrimp and hearty sausage. What is more, the gumbo is served with plump white rice that balances the spice of the dish.

    In Conclusion

To tell the truth, my trip to Orange Beach turned out to be a seafood lover’s paradise. Indeed, from Fisher’s at the Orange Beach Marina to the Gulf Shores Steamer, you’ll find delicious food to satisfy any appetite. Much less, from grilled fish to steamed crab legs, both restaurants offer a variety of seafood to satisfy every palate. Either places will suit any seafood lover’s palates.

  • Hidden Gems of Savannah, Georgia

    Hidden Gems of Savannah, Georgia

As a recent visitor of Savannah, Georgia, I’m always excited to share the cool places to discover and the best places to eat in this charming town. Speaking of must-see spots, don’t miss River Street. You can stroll the historic cobbled streets, enjoy river views and shop for souvenirs. Another local favorite is Forsyth Park, a 30-acre park perfect for picnicking, jogging or just relaxing. In addition, let’s not forget the Savannah Historic District. To say nothing of the 22-block area home to many of the city’s oldest and most beautiful buildings, including the birthplace of Juliet Gordon Law.

Some Fun Places on River Street

To tell the truth, one of my favorite things to do is browse the unique boutiques and shops along the street. Here you can find everything from handmade jewelry, souvenirs and local artwork. As you walk from shop to shop, enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and the boats that come and go. Indeed, another must-see on River Street is to enjoy delicious seafood and Southern cuisine. Moreover, on our most recent visit, we had the pleasure of dining at River House Seafood and sampled the juicy fried shrimp and hushpuppies. Not to mention, the price point is moderate but the flavor is robust.

“As you walk from shop to shop, enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and the boats that come and go.”

Additionally, if you’re looking for some outdoor fun, take a walk along the river or take a horse-drawn carriage tour. Not only will you not regret it but you’ll thank me as well. Further, we think these activities are a great way to unwind and relax while immersing yourself in the history and beauty of Savannah.

    Forsyth Park

Fortunately during our visit it was a sunny day and we decided to go on a picnic with my friends. We arrived early to stake out near the fountain and spread blankets. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of the park as we unpacked our baskets full of sandwiches, fruit and drinks. Children played on swings and families had picnics on nearby blankets.

We then took a leisurely walk through the park admiring the stunning flowers and plants along the way. We also visited the Garden of Scents, a sensory garden for the disabled, and were struck by the beauty and tranquility of the space.

Throughout the day, we lounged in our blankets, chatted, and stopped occasionally to play frisbee or throw a ball. The breeze was warm and gentle, and the sun was shining on us, making it a perfect picnic day. When the sun finally set, we packed up and said goodbye to Forsyth Park where we had already planned our next picnic. A picnic is an unforgettable experience and a real pleasure.

My 3 Top Picks of Local Eats

Furthermore, when it comes to food, Savannah has plenty of delicious options, but here are three of the locals favorite’s.

    1. The Olde Pink House – This iconic restaurant is known for its signature dish, fried duck breast served with sweet potato hash and blueberry compote. Signature drinks include the Pink Lady Cocktail and Peach Bellini.
    2. Treylor Park – In all honesty, if you’re looking for a fun, casual atmosphere, this is the place. Don’t miss the loaded tater tots. In fact, try the Trailer Park Punch, a refreshing blend of vodka, lemon, and basil.
    3. The Gray – Housed in a former Greyhound bus station, this elegant restaurant offers a farm-to-table menu with an emphasis on Southern cuisine. Fried chicken and donuts are a must. Don’t miss the Charleston Light Dragoon’s Punch, a blend of aged rum, brandy and sherry.
These are just a few of the many great restaurants and attractions in Savannah, Georgia. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, you’re sure to have a great time exploring this city and all it has to offer!
